Lawnmower

Perhaps more than anything else, you'll need a lawnmower for your new yard. The machine you buy doesn't have to have a long list of fancy features; it just needs to run consistently so that you can keep your lawn trimmed. Lots of homeowners and even landscaping professionals sell old lawnmowers to pawn shops when they upgrade to newer machines, so there's a good chance that you'll find a gently used mower at a fraction of what you'd spend on a new one.

Weed Trimmer

Your lawnmower will cut the main areas of your yard, but you'll want to have a weed trimmer that you can use around gardens, fences, and various tight areas where the mower won't easily fit. Weed trimmers can be battery-operated, gas-powered, or connect to an extension cord that you plug into an exterior wall outlet. Each option has its own benefits, so consider what would be most convenient for you.

Leaf Blower

If fall will soon be arriving, you'll likely need to contend with falling leaves around your yard. While raking them is one option, doing so can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. A lot of people prefer buying a leaf blower that they can use to blow leaves into a large pile and then load them into bags. A used leaf blower is another device that you can find at pawn shops.
